Embark on a behind-the-scenes tour of our working winery and learn about the winemaking process - from the arrival of the grapes to the press, fermenting, and blending methods adopted to produce our premium wines. Here, you’ll witness barrels of wine patiently waiting to mature and discover the fascinating process the winemaker goes through to help the wine realize its true potential.
Whilst amongst the barrels, you’ll enjoy an exclusive private tasting experience and discover more about the fascinating history and heritage of Maxwell. You'll then have a rare opportunity to taste wine directly from the barrel to compare the oaks they are maturing in - just like a winemaker!
- Hosted by an expert Maxwell tour guide, ask any question you've ever had about wine growing.
- Cruise across the estate vineyards by electric cart, powered entirely by our solar energy production.
- Learn about the grape varieties we grow on our unique limestone slopes and Maxwell’s sustainable initiatives that protect this precious land.
- You'll be able to take photos of the breathtaking views over McLaren Vale's rolling hillscape.
- You may even spy some of our curious local wildlife as we continue to encourage native biodiversity.
