What is a Clan?
What’s in a name? Many of the clans of our Scottish forebears were not kin by blood, they simply adopted the clan’s name. This allowed them to identify with the Maxwell spirit and claim the benefits of belonging. So, even if your name isn’t Maxwell, you can still join The Clan and be treated like a member of our extended family with all the benefits that brings.
Yes, membership is free to join, with no membership fees at any time.
A purchase of one dozen or one 6-pack is required to get you started, with a commitment to purchase two dozen wines per year on-going.
By joining the Clan Wine Club you’re signing up to regular shipments of 24 bottles per year, sent at regular intervals. These can be in dozens or 6 packs, depending on your preference.
Yes, all our wines are available at the Cellar Door, including exclusive releases not available online.
As a member you receive 20% off your regular shipments, and 20% off anything additional purchased in the tasting room or online, all year round.
Freight is free for dozens, Australia wide. For 6 packs, freight is free for orders of $180 and over. If your order is less than $180, a flat rate of $12 is charged Australia wide.
Yes, you tell us which wines (or meads) you love and want to receive regularly. You have full control over the contents of your pack. Login any time to the website to view your wines on your next shipment via our member portal.
No, you can mix it up and make changes to every shipment, or just continue to order your favourite, regular order. Many members change their order according to the season - ordering whites for Summer and reds or Spiced Mead for Winter. Just logon to the website to make changes, or contact us direct on 08 8323 8200 if you need assistance.
You can change your wine selection at any time before your next scheduled order. Simply follow the below steps:
- To view your wine or make changes to your selection, simply click on heading “CLUB” then click “Login”
- A summary of your wine club membership will show up in the body of the page.
- To change your wine pack, scroll down and click ‘EDIT PACK’ and then ‘EDIT WINES’
- From here you can add and remove the wines in your pack until you find the selection you’d like. Just remember, the total number of bottles you select must match your subscription. Be sure to click ‘SAVE’.

While there isn’t a specific mead club, you’re welcome to order your favourite mead (Honey, Spiced or Liqueur) as part of your regular shipments. You can order straight dozens or make up a mix of your favourite wines and meads. Due to shipping restrictions, the Sparkling Mead (sold in 24 x Cans) can’t be included in your regular shipment, but you’re welcome to add a carton of Sparkling Mead to your regular shipment, on top of your 12 bottles.
You can skip a shipment or put your order on hold at any time by contacting us on (08) 8323 8200 or members@maxwellwines.com.au, or by logging onto the member portal.
Your membership is ongoing, but you can cancel your membership at any time after your minimum purchase obligation (24 bottles in the first year) has been met with no penalty.
Please contact us at members@maxwellwines.com.au or 08 8323 8200 if you wish to cancel your club membership. We can also place your shipments on a short hold – while retaining your member benefits, just ask us!
If you cancel before purchasing your first 24 bottles, we ask that you repay the discount provided to you in good faith, in lieu of honouring this agreement.
You can logon anytime to our website via the member portal, and view your wineselection and see your next shipment date. We’llemail you two weeks before charging your credit card and dispatching your wines to see if you would like to make any changes to your wine selection, payment details or delivery address.
We can arrange to send a shipment to friends or family members as a gift on your behalf. If you need a short break from shipments, we can also place your membership on hold for a few months to let you catch up.
Please contact us and we can easily change your delivery date to suit your travel plans. We can even change your shipment address to post to a holiday house or other location within Australia at no extra charge.
The 12-pack Club subscription can be changed from every 6 months, every 4 months, or every 3 months at any time, depending on your needs. Please contact us on members@maxwellwines.com.au if you need assistance with this. The 6 pack Club is sent every 3 months, on-going.
Each year we host wine dinners in most capital cities. Members receive priority invitations and member ticket prices to these events, and we love getting around the country and sharing a meal and our new release wines with members. When you visit McLaren Vale, you can enjoy a complimentary tasting for up to 4 people in our tasting room (value $80). And don’t forget you can purchase member-only limited release wines every time you order!
When you visit our tasting room, members can enjoy a complimentary tasting for up to 4 people (value $80).We also host regular member events atour award-winning restaurant. And if you elect to pick up your regular shipment from the tasting room, you can join us for a glass of wine or a tasting at this time.And don’t forget you can purchase member-only limited release wines every time you visit or order!
We ship with Australia Post. Please let us know your order can be left in a safe place and we will note this for your delivery. Otherwise, if you are not home, your parcel will be taken to your local Australia Post Office for collection and a calling card left.
