Born and bred in McLaren Vale, the Maxwell family has spent three generations crafting wines from the unique terroir of our limestone hill, with character and just the right amount of curiosity. Founded in 1979 by Mark Maxwell.
Perhaps best known for a love of Shiraz and Grenache, Maxwell’s were the pioneers of mead in Australia, setting the benchmark for honey wine. From traditional roots to creative innovation, everything Maxwell-Made carries a signature touch of elegance, imagination and craft.

Located in McLaren Vale, Maxwell Wines is a 45-minute drive south from Adelaide.
The Tasting Room offers seated wine flight tastings, with a carefully crafted snack menu available, designed to enhance the wine-tasting journey for guests. The Terrace is available for a more casual wine experience.

The Maxwell Estate comprises 100 acres of south-facing, gently sloping vineyards within walking distance of the McLaren Vale township. Varieties include Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Nero, Grenache Blanc, Fiano and Verdelho - the oldest vines on the estate dating back to 1928.
