The geology of the terroir underneath the single-vineyard Shiraz for this wine was created 35 million years ago during the 'Eocene Epoch', hence we are honoured to pay homage to its ideal vineyard-growing conditions with this earthy style Shiraz that boasts both richness and an extended palate.

From our 1928 Grenache vines, planted in terraced rows following the contour of the hill, nurtured by time and terroir. Soils vary from sandy loam in the bottom rows to limestone at the top.
100% Pinot Noir from the sun soaked slopes of this Pipers River vineyard, its elevation has contributed to the vibrant fruits and lively acidity. Matured in seasoned French oak for 12 months. Highly aromatic, red florals and cherries fill the bouquet.
Small Batch Production: 100 cases

Nero d'Avola is without question one of the jewels in the Sicilian winemaking crown, and is found growing between the smoldering volcano of Mount Etna and the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
In recent years the variety has found a warm welcome in McLaren Vale's Mediterranean climate.

Our Grenache vines have grown for over 90 years on the west-facing contoured hill of the Maxwell estate, and have seen tastes change from rich, sweet fortifieds to this modern, aromatic and spicy medium-bodied Grenache.

Forget what you knew about Chardonnays of the past, this Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is bright, fruit-driven and a joy to consume while still retaining the grape's regal complexity.
Chardonnay is the 2nd most planted white grape on the planet, grown in every major wine growing country. Known as a chameleon that can be expressed in many ways depending on the region & winemaker, we believe it expresses its best in cooler areas such as the Adelaide Hills.

Verdelho is a white wine grape originating from Portugal and has traditionally been one of the most popular grapes planted on the small island of Madeira since vines were first planted there in the 15th century.
Australian versions of Verdelho are noted for their intense flavours with hints of lime and honeysuckle and the dense texture that the wines can get after some ageing.
A simple play on words - ‘Envious’ was chosen to represent our Non-Vintage Sparkling wine, or ‘NVS’ for short.
Bright, fresh and easy-drinking, this bubbles is made for sunny days, on the beach, by the pool or out picnicking!

Mead
Maxwell Sparkling Mead is as contemporary as it is delicious. Refreshing and pure, this latest addition to the Maxwell Mead range is the perfect beverage for everyday summer drinking.
Low alcohol and gluten free, our Sparkling Mead is 100% natural and made with no added preservatives, artifical colours or flavours and uses ethically sourced honey from local bee hives in South Australia.
This is original mead. With a keen and enquiring mind Ken Maxwell was a student of history, a notable measure of eccentricity saw his passion lean not to the long deceased Kings and Queens filling the educational text books of the time, but to the obscure and creative beverages upon which they indulged.
Like many great things in history, spiced mead was born out of necessity. When mead found its way to England in the middle-ages by the sharp end of a Viking sword, honey was a cheaper commodity than sugar. Mead was fermented communally and was available for consumption around the village.
Where beer and cider was the daily tipple of the Vikings, mead was considered something a little more special. Indeed it was the wedding drink of the Norse. In medieval Europe it was served at the finest occasions, consumed at court by royalty and a badge of affluence and status
