McLaren Vale Scarce Earth at Maxwell Wines

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Maxwell Wines of McLaren Vale has today launched a new, extremely limited Shiraz as part of the inaugural McLaren Vale Scarce Earth project.

McLaren Vale Scarce Earth is a regional initiative created to showcase the diversity of viticultural sites within this world-renowned wine region. Wineries were asked to submit exeptional barrel samples of 100% McLaren Vale Shiraz of the 2009 vintage from single blocks of vines to an expert tasting panel, of which 20 examples were chosen to participate in the inaugural release of wines on 1st May, 2011. Maxwell Wines is proud to be chosen to represent McLaren Vale through this initiative with the limited release of the Maxwell 2009 Eocene Shiraz.

Wines in the McLaren Vale Scarce Earth project are exclusively available for purchase at participating wineries in McLaren Vale for three months after release, or while stocks remain. Collectively these wines are a very special selection of Shiraz of the highest quality, each conveying their sense of place and individuality.
