Wednesday, March 30, 2011

Australia's most highly regarded wine writer, James Halliday, has today published a glowing review of the current Maxwell 2009 Silver Hammer Shiraz.

Maxwell Wines of McLaren Vale is delighted to have received a brilliant review from James Halliday for the Maxwell 2009 Silver Hammer Shiraz. James' website, www.winecompanion.com.au, today published the review highlighted by a score of 94 points (out of 100) for this 100% McLaren Vale Shiraz. Here's what James said:

"Deep purple-crimson; a wine with instantaneous appeal, its bouquet and palate very harmonious and complete; the supple, mouthfilling fruit has ripples of plum, licorice, cherry and mocha, the tannins silky soft on the long finish. Ready now, but will hold."

A fantastic review, especially for a sub-$20 wine, and a great result for Maxwell Wines owner Mark Maxwell and winemaker Alexia Roberts.
