Gold Medal Award for new vintage 2009 Four Roads

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

The newly released 2009 Maxwell Four Roads Shiraz Grenache has been awarded a prestigious Blue-Gold Medal at the 2011 Sydney International Wine Competition.

Maxwell Wines has now released the award winning 2009 Four Roads Shiraz Grenache at the winery's cellar door in the heart of McLaren Vale, South Australia. A wine that is arguably the most versatile food-matching style in Maxwell's portfolio, the 2009 vintage has appropriately been awarded a Blue-Gold Medal at the Sydney International Wine Competition for excellence when served (and judged) with food. This prestigious wine show (now in its 30th year, and accredited by the EU) exists to highlight exceptional quality Australasian wines that complement appropriate food, thereby providing consumers with an additional and more meaningful indication of wine quality over and above medals provided by other wine shows. Given the food-matching prowress of the Four Roads Shiraz Grenache, we're delighted to have this wine recognised with a Blue-Gold medal. Congratulations to our winemaker Alexia Roberts and her team.
